Nicole Janson is the Wellness Coordinator/Clinical Supervisor at the Terra Linda High School Wellness Center. The mission of the Wellness Center is to provide a supportive space and reduce barriers for students to access mental health, substance use/misuse, sexual health services, health education, and community resources.
Nicole grew up in Southern California, and attended UCSB for undergrad and Bowie State University for her Masters’ in Counseling Psychology, which she earned while living in Japan for 4 years, with her partner. She began clinical work in the military Brig and Substance Abuse Counseling Center, then moved to San Francisco to work with insecurely housed women. Following this, she began to work in residential treatment with youth.
She has worked for San Rafael City Schools for 12 years, 8 of which were providing direct services to students with IEPs. She loves the creativity and challenges of her job, and enjoys running, hiking, and watching her kids play soccer.
