Judy Schwerin is the Wellness Coordinator/ Clinical Supervisor at the San Rafael High School Wellness Center and the continuation school on campus Madrone High School. The mission of the Wellness Center is to provide a supportive space and reduce barriers for students to access mental health, substance use/misuse, sexual health services, health education, and community resources.
Judy grew up in Marin County and is a first generation college and masters student. She graduated from Patten University with a BA in Psychology and from Argosy University with an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy. Judy began her clinical work in the nonprofit realm and was placed as a school based provider at San Rafael High School, working primarily with monolingual Spanish speaking Newcomer students, as an Associate Psychotherapist at Huckleberry Youth Programs. She also worked in Northern CA with LifeWorks as the El Puente Program Director providing individual and group counseling to at-risk and gang affiliated youth.
She has worked for San Rafael City Schools for 5 years. She began as an Educationally Related Mental Health Services provider before transitioning to the Wellness Coordinator role. She enjoys working with underserved and at risk youth and connecting students, collaborating with school staff and faculty and bringing innovative and creative Wellness programs and resources to students on campus.
